What is something inherent?

It is said that something is inherent in another thing or in a situation, when it is closely and inseparably part of it, that is, when it corresponds to it by its very nature, in its own way, not accidentally. Thus, inherent things are those that cannot be chosen, that go in a mandatory way with something, or that are constant in some type of situation.

For example, we say that a responsibility is inherent to a certain position, to express that whoever occupies that position, must guarantee the fulfillment of the task, since the latter is linked, corresponds, with the position: it is inherent to it.

This term comes from the Latin voice inhaerere ("To be internally united to"), from which words such as "inheritance" (that of the parents that correspond to the children due to their own family nature) or "adhered" (that is, glued, set) also come. It can be used in various contexts and with regard to very different references.

Are synonyms the following terms are inherent: proper, inseparable, related, attached, corresponding, constitutive, consubstantial, immanent, innate. Rather, they are antonyms inherently the following words: accidental, occasional, improper, accessory, unrelated, apart.
